Pest Patrol considers Termidor® the latest and one of the most advanced non-repellant termiticides used for termite treatments. Termidor® is versatile and can be applied in many different situations. Termidor® is one of the more expensive termiticides on the market and application in some situations may be more involved but due to its rigorous testing, procedure for application and results achieved the price is justified and recommended by Pest Patrol.
Termidor® dust & foam
This treatment is used against active termites discovered in the house, bait stations and landscaping timbers etc. It creates the possibility of colony elimination from application of dust of foam to areas of termite activity.
How does it work?
The transfer effect; simply described as infecting termites with a virus. As termites are infected through dusting or foaming they pass on the chemical to other termites through contact in their closed environment, grooming and exchange of food. Because the chemical has no odor the termites aren't aware of the Termidor® infection. In most situations dusting and foaming treatments should be used in conjunction with chemical soil applications.
Termidor® residual termiticide
For protection of termites re-entering the home Termidor® can be applied as a continuous chemical zone around and under the home. Termites cannot detect the chemical in the soil and are more likely to travel through the treated soil areas. This concept is a break-through in the treatment of termites as termites are less likely to look for ways around the treated zone and into the house there is a maximisation of the ‘transfer effect' which allow the possibility of colony eradication.
CSIRO has conducted trials providing evidence that Termidor® can still be effective in protecting the home after eight years of application so Pest Patrol does incorporate termite management plans to include eight year warranties.
Termidor® is approved for domestic and commercial situations and has minimal impact on the environment. Termidor® is water based and has no odour and will not leach through the soil. Termidor® is not damaging to soil micro-organisms, earthworms or plants.
